Staff Machine Learning Engineer

About the Role

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at XIT Company, you will be a technical leader driving our most critical AI initiatives. You will set the technical direction for ML across multiple teams, architect company-wide ML platforms, and solve our most challenging technical problems while establishing engineering excellence standards.

What You'll Do

• Define and drive the technical vision for machine learning across the organization.
• Architect and lead the development of company-wide ML platforms and infrastructure.
• Solve the most complex technical challenges in ML system design and implementation.
• Lead multiple high-impact ML projects simultaneously across different product areas.
• Establish ML engineering best practices, standards, and processes company-wide.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to multiple engineering teams.
• Drive innovation through research and development of novel ML approaches.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on AI strategy and roadmap.
• Represent the company at conferences and in the broader ML community.
• Lead technical due diligence for ML-related partnerships and acquisitions.
• Design systems that handle billions of predictions daily with sub-second latency.

What We're Looking For

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with 3+ years in technical leadership roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in multiple ML domains (NLP, Computer Vision, Recommendation Systems, etc.).
• Proven track record of architecting and scaling ML systems serving millions of users.
• Expert knowledge of distributed systems, system design, and software architecture.
• Experience building and leading ML platforms used by multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in production ML including feature stores, model registries, and experimentation platforms.
• Strong experience with multiple cloud platforms and ML services.
• Published research or significant contributions to open-source ML projects is a plus.
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Strategic thinking with ability to balance technical excellence with business impact.
